Refurbishment and Extension of a Rehabilitation Facility in Harlow Essex
Vale House Stabilisation Services are based in Harlow, Hertford where they provide a range of services for homeless people with drug and alcohol problems. Their service is significantly over subscribed with a clear need in Essex and the adjoining counties.
Passmores House is a Grade II Listed dwelling with outbuildings and a Stable Block. The refurbished and extended building provides a treatment centre for people with substance misuse problems.
The accommodation includes an 18 bed care home with en-suite facilities, together with dining rooms, meeting rooms, lounge and administration areas.
Passmores House is set within a tranquil parkland setting with part of the original moat remaining and one of the oldest and highest trees in Essex to the rear. The original house sits within an Ancient Monument site.
The new build accommodation block remains subservient to the original house, whilst the glazed elevation provides a more appropriate link to the original stable block.
